[6 de abril de 2020] Mientras aprendemos a ajustar nuestras vidas dada la realidad del coronavirus y atendemos la solicitud de hacer nuestra parte para frenar su propagación practicando el distanciamiento social, les invito a que se unan a mí cada semana para dedicar un momento a cultivar un «hábito de gracia». Una nueva meditación se publicará todos los lunes hasta mayo.
6 de abril de 2020: Si Él cuida de las aves
Hay una oración con la cual comienza la liturgia del Viernes Santo que puede resultar perfecta para este tiempo. Se encuentra en la página 195 del libro de oración y dice: “Mira con bondad, te suplicamos, Dios omnipotente, a esta tu familia, por la cual nuestro Señor Jesucristo aceptó ser traicionado y entregado a hombres crueles, y sufrir muerte en la cruz; quien vive ahora y reina contigo y el Espíritu Santo, un solo Dios, por los siglos de los siglos. Amén”. Esa bien puede ser una oración para nosotros esta Semana Santa.
“Mira con bondad, te suplicamos, Dios omnipotente, a esta tu familia, por la cual nuestro Señor Jesucristo aceptó ser traicionado”. A lo largo de los años en que he rezado esa oración, casi unos cuarenta años de sacerdote, con frecuencia me he hecho la pregunta, ¿cuál es la familia? ¿cuál es la familia que le pedimos a Dios que mire con bondad? ¿Es la familia de la fe? ¿Los que han sido bautizados y han aceptado y siguen a Jesús como salvador y Señor? Creo que eso es verdad. Pero ¿es más grande que eso? Y durante esta Semana Santa, en medio del COVID-19, creo que debemos rezarla, rogando por algo más grande que nosotros mismos. Tengo la sensación de que esta oración es por toda la familia humana de Dios.
Juan 3:16, al hablar de Jesús que da su vida como un acto de amor en la cruz, dice, “Porque tanto amó Dios al mundo”. No sólo a la Iglesia, no sólo a sus fieles seguidores, no sólo a alguna nación en particular ni a una raza en particular o a una ideología o religión particulares. No, no, no. “Tanto amó Dios al mundo que dio a su hijo unigénito” La familia en la oración, que sea la familia humana de Dios. Que seamos todos nosotros. Pidiéndole a Dios que nos mire ahora. Que nos mire en estos momentos. Que mire a los que están enfermos, a los que sufren, a los que mueren. Que mire a sus familias y a sus seres queridos. Que mire a todos los que cuidan de ellos. Que nos mire a todos.
Cuando oigo esa palabra, que mire, pidiéndole a Dios, mira a esta tu familia, especialmente durante esta Semana Santa, la cual podría ser uno de los peores momentos durante esta pandemia. recuerdo ese antiguo himno que dice así: “¿Cómo podré estar triste, cómo entre sombras ir, cómo sentirme solo y en el dolor vivir? Si Cristo es mi consuelo, mi amigo siempre fiel, si aun las aves tienen seguro asilo en Él”. Y en la próxima estrofa dice: “ ‘Nunca te desalientes’, oigo al Señor decir, y en su Palabra fiado hago al dolor huir; a Cristo paso a paso yo sigo sin cesar y todas sus bondades me da sin limitar. ¡Feliz cantando alegre yo vivo siempre aquí; si Él cuida de las aves, cuidará también de mí!”
Dios les ama, Dios les bengice, y que Dios nos sostenga a todos, la familia humana de Dios completa, en esas manos de amor todopoderosas. |
